# Interactive Brokers

> How to connect and use Interactive Brokers.

Your portfolio, balances, P\&L, orders and trades; quotes, options, price alerts, watchlists and screeners. For personal agents, using IBKR’s official connection.

## How it connects

Add **Interactive Brokers** to the agent. Open **Connect your Interactive Brokers** and choose what it may do:

| Option | What it allows |
| - | - |
| **Read only** | Look at your account and the market without changes. |
| **Read and act** | Also prepare orders you review and send yourself in IBKR, alerts and watchlists. |
| **Operate on its own** | Also send, change and cancel real stock and option orders without approving each in IBKR. |

Then sign in with your IBKR user and authorize: no keys to copy. The login says the app isn’t verified by IBKR. Return to the chat so the agent can check the connection.

<Warning>
  **Operate on its own** uses real money and a trade can’t be undone. Choose it only if you want to authorize that autonomy. IBKR doesn’t enable it for every account yet: if it doesn’t grant that permission, the agent acts with your OK.

## Examples

* “Summarize my portfolio and today’s P\&L.”
* “Tell me if this stock reaches the price I give you.”
* “Prepare this order for me to review in IBKR.”

## Limits and disconnecting

Quotes and trading depend on your account’s permissions and what IBKR enables. **Read and act** differs from **Operate on its own**: check the access granted. To disconnect, remove the plugin and revoke its authorization in IBKR.
