With ICBC, your agent tells you how much money you have, what transactions there were, how much is due on your card and which bills you have to pay. If you turn on the permission, it also transfers to your saved contacts and pays bills, always with your OK.

What it can do

Look up

Balances; transactions (the latest, for a period or for each account); your saved contacts; your cards, their current statement and their purchases; past statements as PDF; bills to pay and their history; the receipt for a transaction; the transfers you made.

Move money, with your OK

Transfer to a saved contact, pay a bill, and save or delete a contact. It needs the permission on.

How it connects

1

Add it to an agent

From Plugins → ICBC → Add to an agent, or ask your agent in the chat. See Add a plugin.
2

Enter your username and password

Your agent sends you a one-time link for each: your ICBC Online Banking username and password. They’re kept encrypted. See Keys and values.
3

Your agent confirms

It checks that it can sign in and lets you know in the chat. The first time takes a bit longer: the bank sees a new device.

The permission

On the ICBC card, in the agent’s Plugins tab, there’s the Allow payments and transfers switch: “Transfer, pay bills and save contacts, always with your OK. Off, it only looks.” It starts off and only you change it. minai’s servers enforce the limit: your agent can’t get around it. See Permissions.
A transfer or a payment is money that really leaves your account. Turn on the permission only if you want your agent to be able to do it, and check every preview before confirming.

How it looks out for you

  • First, the preview. Before transferring or paying, it validates it with the bank and shows you which account it’s from, who it’s to (name, bank and CUIT) and how much, with the Confirm and Change buttons. It only goes ahead with your yes, and that OK is for that exact operation.
  • If needed, after your OK it asks you in the chat for the ICBC Token code you see in the app at that moment (it expires quickly).
  • Saving a new contact requires a face check on your phone, through a link.
  • It never makes up amounts or accounts.
  • If the result isn’t clear, it doesn’t retry: first it checks your transactions.
  • If the password is wrong, it doesn’t keep trying (so the bank doesn’t lock it): it asks you to enter it again.
  • Your agent never sees your password: minai’s servers add it on each request.

Things to ask it

  • “How much money do I have at ICBC?”
  • “Show me this month’s transactions on my savings account.”
  • “How much is due on my Visa, and when?”
  • “Download my September card statement.”
  • “Which bills do I have to pay?”
  • “Transfer $50,000 to my sister.”

Limits

  • It only transfers to contacts you have saved.
  • The bank sometimes blocks automated sign-ins for security; when that happens, retrying doesn’t help and your agent tells you so.
  • It’s only for a personal agent.

If you remove it

Your agent loses access in less than a minute and confirms it. Your username and password are deleted with the plugin; if you add it again, it asks for them again. See Remove a plugin.
