Your agent does a lot, but there are things it doesn’t do, sometimes by design (to look out for you) and sometimes because it can’t. Here they all are, together.

To look out for you

  • It doesn’t touch your money or send anything in your name without your OK. Not on a website, not with a plugin: every purchase, payment, submission or message needs you to say yes at that step. See Browse the web and Permissions.
  • It doesn’t accept passwords in the chat. It always sends you a one-time link. See Keys and values.
  • It doesn’t change its own permissions. Plugin switches (like allowing transfers or sending emails) are changed only by you. See Permissions.
  • It doesn’t read your WhatsApp, your email or your accounts unless you add the plugin. See Plugins.
  • It doesn’t install a plugin without asking you. It tells you which one and what for, and waits for your OK.

Channels

  • It talks on only one channel at a time. To move it to another, change channels.
  • It can’t use your own WhatsApp number as its line. See WhatsApp.
  • It doesn’t show buttons on WhatsApp: there, options arrive as a numbered list. See Buttons and options.
  • A group agent doesn’t use the minai chat, doesn’t change channels and can’t have personal-only plugins. For now it answers every message in the group. See Agents for a group.
  • It doesn’t talk to your other agents. Each one has its own conversation with you.

Files, images and voice

  • It doesn’t generate images with AI. It sends you screenshots and charts it makes from data.
  • It doesn’t answer with voice. It understands your voice notes, but replies in writing.
  • It doesn’t receive files over 15 MB (and in the minai chat, no more than 10 per message).
  • It doesn’t transcribe more audio than your plan’s minutes for the month: after that it asks you to type.
See Files, images and audio.

Software

  • It doesn’t use admin permissions (sudo, apt), Docker or system services.
  • It doesn’t compile programs that need a C compiler.
See Software and code.

When it doesn’t answer

If it can’t answer, it tells you why, in its name:
  • It’s paused: “Clara is paused. To have it answer again, resume it from minai.”. See Stop, restart and pause.
  • Your account went over the plan’s limits: it asks you to go to Settings → Plan and usage to sort it out. See Plans.
  • Your AI subscription hit its limit: it tells you when it renews. Meanwhile it doesn’t answer and its schedules are skipped. See Connect your AI.
  • You disconnected the AI it uses: it stops answering until you connect one again.
